TPG was created by Karissa Skirmont and the concept for this game came about on a road trip from Falls City, NE to Kansas City, MO in 2011 and refined over several trips during this time frame.
To understand more I first must tell you that I am a huge lover and fan of the color PURPLE! Absolutely FANATICAL about the color purple. I get a dopamine rush from finding things in store in the color.
In fact, I think it would be fair to say that a big part of my life has been dedicated to the color PURPLE! From a purple purse, phone case, jewelry, shoes, clothing, art, etc. It’s even become a cornerstone to my business brands and I’m known in the Kansas City networking circles as “The Purple Lady”.
In 2024 at 40, I was late diagnosed with ADHD and score high on the Autism Spectrum Quotient Tests which leads me to believe that my obsession with Purple, is tied to a special interest.
The second part of this story is that I love playing road trip games as I traveled. My favorites are “Beep Beep Jeep!”, Slug Bug, Windmill, Padiddle, Alphabet Game, Car Number Plate and the I packed my bag game.
Since I had did frequented road trips out of town for the bigger cities on the weekends during that time, it was when “The Purple Game!” was born! Over the course of several months, the rules got fine-tuned into what they are today.
I hope that you not only enjoy this game but share it with your family and friends. It really is a fun and challenging game with a hint of skill involved. Just be careful not to burst someone’s eardrums or scare the driver!
